Veil ("the extension") is a browser extension that visually blurs sensitive information on web pages so it is not accidentally exposed during screen sharing, recording, or screenshots. This policy explains how the extension handles data. In short: it doesn't collect any.
None. Veil does not collect, store on remote servers, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, page content, or browsing activity. There are no user accounts and no analytics or tracking.
All processing happens locally inside your browser. When enabled, Veil reads the text on the page you are viewing solely to detect patterns that look like sensitive data (such as email addresses, card numbers, and phone numbers) and apply a visual blur to them. This analysis occurs in real time on your device and the page text is never sent anywhere.
Your preferences — whether protection is on or off, and which categories you
choose to blur — are saved locally on your device using the browser's
chrome.storage.local API. This information stays on your device
and is not transmitted to us or any third party.
Veil does not use any third-party services, servers, SDKs, or analytics providers. No data is shared with anyone.
Veil does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "last updated" date.
